What if I've already done some of this work?

Last updated: 24 August 2026

You might arrive at Draper with more than a rough idea — a plan you've already written, market research you've pulled together, a few pages of notes. That's not a problem, and you don't need to repeat any of it.

The workshops on the path work from wherever you already are. In the workshop that covers the work you've done, paste in what you have and Draper builds from there — reading what you bring and asking only for the bits it's still missing, not walking you back over ground you've already covered.

How it works

Start the workshop that matches the work you've done. Already written a business plan? Start the Biz Plan and paste it in. Already worked out who your customer is? Bring that to the customer stage. Draper reads what you give it and asks the questions still worth asking — it's filling in the rest, not checking your work.

Draper asks for what's missing

When you paste something in, Draper will still ask you things. But it's only the gaps. If the idea is well written out but you've never thought about how it makes money, it asks about that. If the customer work is done but the brand isn't, it asks about brand. What you've already covered isn't repeated back at you.

When a fresh workspace is the better call

If the work you've done is for a different direction entirely — a different customer, problem, or business — it's cleaner to start a new workspace than to build one business on top of another's foundations. But if it's the same idea and you've simply done parts of it, paste them in and carry on.
